Fellow Americans, a timely announcement on Election Day:

This is your day to exercise your Constitutional Right to select a leader who will hopefully keep our soldiers out of harm’s way and ensure that our veterans and their families are properly cared for. What better day to announce our next record, a set of songs written by a Vietnam vet for his fellow servicemen and women.

Paradise of Bachelors is proud to present the first-ever reissue of the previously obscure 1983 LP by the Red Rippers, entitled Over There … and Over Here. Written and recorded by Navy pilot Edwin Dale Bankston, the album’s nine battle-scarred country-boogie/psych dispatches chronicle the harrowing experiences of Bankston and his fellow vets during the Vietnam War and back home. Produced in collaboration with the artist, the package includes extensive liner notes and archival photos. This one will be available on LP, CD, and digital formats–a PoB first–and will be officially released on January 29, 2013, a week after Inauguration Day. We’re donating a portion of the proceeds to a veterans’ charity.

For more details and images, visit our PoB-05 product page here. Stay tuned for a preview of the music of the Red Rippers on Veterans Day, Monday, November 12th. Pre-order information forthcoming shortly thereafter.
