Hiss Golden Messenger’s M.C. Taylor and Bachelor B. Greaves watch Jefferson’s NYE 2012 pyrotechnic displays.

2013 has been quite a year for us here at PoB, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us and our artists by buying records and tickets to performances. This adventure only works with your participation, so thank y’all, for real. We really do appreciate it. We can’t wait to tell you about our 2014 releases to follow up Hiss Golden Messenger’s Bad Debt on January 14.

We also would like to thank all the writers, editors, and press outlets who have been kind enough to cover the work of our artists. We’re still a small homebrew operation, and the attention and critical insight you’ve contributed mean a lot to us. So without further ado, here’s an initial overview of year-end notices on we’ve been lucky enough to appear. Year-end lists are a venerable (some might say hoary) tradition, but their pleasure and utility lies in revisiting and curating all the sounds and statements made over the past twelve months, especially those of us with too many piles of records (ahem) might have forgotten or overlooked.

Anyway, it’s humbling and an honor to see our entire contemporary artist roster on these registers of worthies, plus some of our reissues as well. Please let us know if we’ve missed your list in the below compendium. You can purchase any of these fine records here.
